Peran guru dalam membentuk karakter disiplin siswasiswi di MIN 2 Aceh Barat

Abstract
This research was conducted at MIN 2 Aceh Barat and focuses on the role of teachers in shaping students’ disciplinary character. Based on preliminary observations, it was found that there were still students at MIN 2 Aceh Barat who lacked discipline, were not neat in their appearance, and were undisciplined in their learning behavior. Based on this background, the purpose of this study was to determine the role of teachers in the formation of students’ disciplinary character at MIN 2 Aceh Barat.This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of five upper-grade teachers and upper-grade students in grades IV, V, and VI. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.The results of the study indicate that the teachers at MIN 2 Aceh Barat have performed their roles well in shaping students’ disciplinary character. These roles include educating, teaching, guiding, serving as role models, providing advice, motivating, and evaluating. Through these roles, teachers foster students’ disciplinary character in the form of discipline in learning by participating in classroom activities in an orderly and regular manner, discipline in managing time according to the madrasah’s schedule, and discipline in attitude, such as wearing neat clothing until the end of the learning hours.
